Description
A capture of a momma Common Merganser Duck and her babies enjoy a swim around Mackinac Island. They are a large duck of rivers and lakes. They are common in forested areas of Europe, northern and central Asia, and North America. The females are often smaller than the males. I love their little mohawks. They have a crest of longer head feathers, but these usually lie smoothly rounded behind the head, not normally forming an erect crest.
