Description
This cute Mallard couple casually swims together in a pond located in Nathanael Greene Park / Close Memorial Park in Springfield Missouri, United States. Mallards belong to the subfamily Anatinae of the waterfowl family Anatidea. The males have glossy green and blue heads while the females are mainly brown-speckled. Both genders have an area of white bordered black speculum feathers which commonly include iridescent blue feathers especially among the males.
