Description
A view of Mackinac Bridge from McGulpin Point Lighthouse on a foggy and rainy day. This is the Lake Michigan side in Mackinaw City, Michigan, United States. The Mackinac Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Straits of Mackinac to connect the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of the U.S. state of Michigan. Opened in 1957, the 26,372 foot bridge (also called "Big Mac" and "Mighty Mac") is the world's 19th-longest main span and the longest suspension bridge between anchorages in the Western Hemisphere. The bridge is part of Interstate 75 and connects St. Ignace on the north with the Mackinaw City on the south.
