Description
Another version of a purple bicycle sitting along the coastline of the beautiful waters of Lake Huron in Mackinac Island, Michigan, United States. Bikes are common there as Mackinac has a ban against motor vehicles (except emergency vehicles). Residents and tourists get around by bike, walking and horses. If you look out in the distance you'll see a sailboat. Mackinac Island is an island and resort area, covering 3.8 square miles. It is located in Lake Huron, at the eastern end of the Straits of Mackinac, between the state's Upper and Lower Peninsulas. It is a popular summer tourist attraction.. Much of the island has undergone extensive historical preservation and restoration; as a result, the entire island is listed as a National Historic Landmark. More than 80 percent of the island is preserved as Mackinac Island State Park.
