Description
A photo of the Arch Rock located on Mackinac Island Michigan, United States. It's a beautiful natural bridge. I love the beautiful blue, aqua, and turquoise colors in the water of Lake Huron. So beautiful. Arch Rock is a geologic formation on Mackinac Island in Michigan. It is a natural limestone arch. Arch Rock stands on the Lake Huron shoreline 146 feet (45 m) above the water. Limestone breccia is not an ideal material for natural bridges, and this type of formation is quite rare in the North American Great Lakes region. The Native Americans saw Arch Rock as a place of numinous power, and told many stories and legends about it.

Great vantage point! My mind takes me to Julia Pfeiffer Burns state park along the Big Sur coast ...

This is a grand view, Jennifer, and a fine composition using the arched rock as a framing for the water and beach below. I can feel my feet sliding downhill as I hike.
