Description
An early morning view during twilight of the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge and some of the hills beside. This was during blue hour just before sunrise in Cape Girardeau Missouri, United States. This cable bridge is beautiful with all it's lights on. The Mississippi River below is flooded from heavy rains during the spring season. The other side of the bridge is East Cape Girardeau, Illinois. Built in 2004, it replaced the previous 1929 Cape Girardeau Bridge. The highway that crosses it is hwy 74. It s named after Bill Emerson, a Missouri politician who served in the US House of Representatives from 1981 until his death in 1996. It was also featured in the movie "Gone Girl" in 2014.
