Description
A Sea Lion waits their turn to climb up on the rocky cliff. This grouping of Sea Lions was captured in Kenai Fjords National Park in Alaska. Kittiwake birds also rest on the rocky cliffs. The Sea Lions were very noisy. Sea Lions are mammals characterized by external ear flaps, long foreflippers, the ability to walk on all fours, and short, thick hair. They are found from subartic to tropical waters in both northern and southern hemispheres with the exception of the northern Atlantic Ocean. Average lifespan is 20 - 30 years and a male can weigh an average of 660 lbs and grow to a length of 10 ft.
