Artist's Description
A junior bald eagle jumps up and down on the nest to feel the air on it's wings as it works up the nerves to fly for the first time. It's sibling has already left the nest. Seems this one isn't as brave. This is normal behavior as the babies start to get stronger. they jump up and down to see if they can get any lift with their wings. Typically when they fly off, they don't come back. Their nest is near Lake Springfield in Springfield Missouri, United States. The bald eagle is a bird of prey found in North America and is the United States National Bird. It takes approximately 5 years for an eagle to get their white head and white tail (white plumage).
