Description
A black and white view looking out our window of the Cog Railway Train as we climb up the mountain towards the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. It was my first train ride. I captured a glimpse of the train as we approached a curve. This is the historic Cog Railway train ride that has been in business over 100 years. Pikes Peak is part of the Rocky Mountains and reaches an elevation of 14,115 feet. It is the highest summit of the southern Front Range. You start in Manitou Springs, Colorado where the train station is. It takes about an hour to get to the top, but it's an experience and view we'll never forget.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
