Artist's Description
This is looking up one of the spiral staircases at the historic Arlington Resort Hotel and Spa in Hot Springs, Arkansas, United States. Originally opening in 1875, it was he largest hotel in the state in that era with 120 guest rooms. It was razed and rebuilt in 1893 with 300 guest rooms. In 1923 the building was distroyed by a fire. The buidling that stands today was built in 1924. Although the third Arlington architecturally differs from the first two, there is one holdover – the twin towers. There is now 560 guest rooms, ,Crystal Ballroom, Venetian Room, and in-house bath house with open, bright separate accommodations for men and women, and 50 rooms have thermal mineral waters piped in.
