Description
A black and white photo from St. Louis Street in downtown Springfield Missouri that includes the Hammons Tower, Springfield Visitor Center and a Parking Garage. Hammons Tower, 22 story's high, is the tallest building in Springfield. The top is known as The Tower Club and is used for Wedding's, Special Events and meetings. One of the things Springfield is associated with is the famous Route 66. St. Louis Street is part of the old Route. Route 66 is a former east-west highway running from Santa Monica, California to Chicago, Illinois. In Missouri, the highway ran from downtown St. Louis to the Kansas state line west of Joplin, Missouri.
