An Atlantic Ghost Crab is ready to attack if needed! He wants you to "Save a crab and eat shrimp." I captured him in the sand at Folly Beach, South Carolina, United States. I can't believe I almost stepped on him barefooted. That would have hurt! They hide so well and blend in with the sand. He came out of his hole because he didn't like that I was taking his picture and looked ready to attack. The Atlantic Ghost Crab is a common species along the Atlantic coast of the US, and is the only species of Ghost Crab along the Atlantic Coast. Their eyes can turn to giving them 360 degree vision.
