Wow! The sky turned purple and pink during twlight just before the sunrise along the muddy Mississippi River from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA on a summer morning. On the other side of the River is the US state of Illinois. Mississippi River is the second longest River in North America. It flows 2,350 miles from its source at Lake Itasca through the center of the continental United States to the Gulf of Mexico. It is one of the world’s major river systems in size, habitat diversity and biological productivity.
