Description
This Lake Huron photo is focused on some stacked rocks along the beach at Mackinac Island, Michigan, United States. These man-made stacked rocks are commonly seen along walking trails, beaches and more. They are called Cairns and adventurers will build them to mark their trail to find their way back. Even some of the national parks are building them to help guide hikers. Some places do not allow them though, and often people build them just for fun. Lake Huron is part of the Great Lakes. Please note that most parks do not allow these and usually knock them down, which Mackinac Island is one of those parks. I did not build this. Just came across it and at the time didn't know what it was.
