Description
A black and white winter scene along James River in Springfield Missouri. James River is a 130 mile river in southern Missouri. It's source is near the town of Diggins and heads northwesterly, then turns southwest near Northview and passes down the east side of Springfield where where it is impounded to form Lake Springfield. From Springfield it flows west, then south to Galena where it becomes and arm of Table Rock Lake. Large sections are floatable, and offers several access points for fishing and boat launches. The river's unusual green stain is from copper-fixing bacteria present in the waters. (source: Wikipedia)

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
