Description
A section where James River cuts back and makes a horseshoe turn in Springfield, Missouri. This turn is how Rivercut got it's name. Rivercut is a Golf Couse and upscale Golf Community subdivision in Springfield. James River is a 130 mile river in southern Missouri. It's source is near the town of Diggins and heads northwesterly, then turns southwest near Northview and passes down the east side of Springfield where where it is impounded to form Lake Springfield. From Springfield it flows west, then south to Galena where it becomes and arm of Table Rock Lake. Large sections are floatable, and offers several access points for fishing and boat launches. The river's unusual green stain is from copper-fixing bacteria present in the waters. (source: Wikipedia) In this photo, the bright blue sky and snow is making the water look blue.
