Other than the beautiful views of the mountains, one of the other things I remember most about Denali National Park in Alaska, United States, is the single narrow road around the mountain cliffs. This is a 1 lane road only driven on by tour guides. Occasionally you'll run across another tour bus coming the other direction. Then it gets really scary. In this photo you can see the road curving around. There are several spots like this. When we got to this corner, there was another bus coming. The tour guide had to pull over into that tiny pull off area so the other bus could get through. While sitting there, I looked out the window and it looked like another 6 inches would have been deadly, causing the bus to roll down the hill. In fact, I couldn't even see the ground under us. I just saw the drop off! Those were scary moments. Those tour guides sure have to know what they're doing.
