A sunset / evening photo taken along the Missouri River. The pair of twin bridges is known as Blanchette Memorial Bridge which carries Highway 70 across the river in St. Charles, Missouri. St Charles is a suburb of St Louis. The bridge connects the St Louis and St Charles counties. Opening in 1959, the bridge handles an average of 165,000 vehicle per day, it is the area's busiest bridge.. The bridge is named from a French Canadian fur trader and hunter Louis Blanchette, who founded St. Charles as a post along the Missouri River. The Missouri River reaches an average depth of about 45 feet below the bridge. The Missouri River is the longest river in North America.
